SMALL BUT MIGHTY
TRIVIA NIGHT RAISES $11,300

Small, in number, but mighty in heart, the Missouri
Snowbirds, with the help of over one-hundred generous local merchants who
donated dinners, goods, golf, clothing, and other items raised $11,300, $10,000
of which will benefit the
needs and to start off next year’s auction.
Those in attendance, many dressed in Tom Sawyer era costumes sitting at tables decorated in Mark Twain era memorabilia, shopped the silent auction tables and bid on the many wonderful donated items. They purchased raffle tickets and mulligans and dined on a variety of delicacies brought by each tables’ members. The venue was spacious and alive with friends excited about the prospect of assisting in a small way the libraries which play such a vital part in the snowbirds’ stay in the area.
Prizes were awarded for the most spirited table decorations and costumes, the heads or tails winners, and of course for the first, second, and third place winners of the trivia competition. A new award was given to the table that knew the answers, but just “couldn’t remember them at that moment.” The rooms were alive with the quiet of deep thought which one could feel as guests searched for the correct response to the question and then to the boisterous outburst as the correct answers were announced.

Dale and Judy announced that next year’s Fifth
Annual Trivia Night will be held on February 5, 2011. Tables will
go on sale in November 2011. Interested guests may obtain
information
about reserving a table by going to the website www.mosnowbirds.org. Dale and Judy recommend making your
reservation early as the event this year was an early sell-out. The entire
